SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO – (Newsfile – December 16, 2015) – Triton Emission Solutions Inc. (OTCQB: DSOX) (the “Company”) is pleased to announce that it has filed a patent application for its NJORD exhaust gas scrubber, a unique exhaust gas scrubber which requires no chemicals, uses less water than competitor scrubbers and reduces energy consumption. It is also significantly smaller in size than the competition. In order to prove the NJORD technology, the Company has built a fully functional prototype of the NJORD exhaust gas scrubber in Sweden. The tests conducted on the prototype successfully lowered SOx down to below the 0.1% legal limit for vessels operating within Emission Control Areas.
“With the NJORD, Triton has developed what we believe to be a ‘quantum leap’ in the exhaust gas scrubbing arena.” said Anders Aasen, CEO. He added, “This technology will allow ship owners to eliminate the cost and complexity of chemical handling and storage on board a ship, necessary to operate exhaust gas scrubbers currently available on the market”
“Triton’s NJORD exhaust gas scrubber’s unique backpressure efficient design represents an exhaust gas scrubber which requires substantially less water than competitors.” said Mohamed Hameed, VP of Engineering at Triton International.
Additionally, the Company announced that in collaboration with a third-party company, their exhaust gas scrubber has been designed to incorporate and accommodate an optional waste heat recovery solution.
“The waste heat recovery option on the NJORD exhaust gas scrubber can reduce energy consumption by up to 20%.” said Rasmus Norling, President and Chief Technical Officer.
Triton continues to add to its intellectual property portfolio and will continue to update its customers and shareholders of developments.
